mirrors

Projects in progress..
I love making summer dresses! This one needs a zipper..and I was really hoping it would survive on stretch alone but no. Wait for more progress next week.
On an unrelated note sometimes humidity does amazing things to my hair.

'Behind the wall there is a field of red snow. I had expected that to enter it would be forbidden, but Jean said no, walk about in it, as much as you like.'

Foxtail

Hopefully the last set of gloomy photos for a while.  The bright orange foxtail has been helping add some color to the white skies here lately.  Maybe that was a good h&m impulse purchase after all?
Finished the dress, wearing it in the third photo though I realize you can't see it.. and that I'm being completely unhelpful..
Now on to dress 2!

City Trains

Some random photos from the last few days
I realized how much I miss trains in foreign cities; knowing where I'm going and not knowing where I am

Blurred spring start

Wearing Old Navy jacket, brother's old sweater, skirt made by my mom, tights, ASOS boots
Grainy photos on a warmer evening and my attempt at mixing prints.
Currently working on a jersey dress and crochet tank. I hope to post the dress soon!

Déjeuner du matin

Il a mis le cafe
Dans la tasse
Il a mis le lait
Dans la tasse de cafe
Il a mis le sucre
Dans le cafe au lait
Avec la petite cuiller
Il a tourne
Il a bu le cafe au lait
Et il a repose la tasse
Sans me parler
Il a allume
Une cigarette
Il a fait des ronds
Avec la fume
Il a mis les cendres
Dans le cendrier
Sans me parler
Sans me regarder
Il s'est leve
Il a mis
Son chapeau sur sa tete
Il a mis
Son manteau de pluie
Parce qu'il pleuvait
Et il est parti
Sous la pluie
Sans une parole
Et moi j'ai pris
Ma tete dans ma main
Et j'ai pleure.

And don't fall into any temptations while I am away.

I went to a high school theater competition on Saturday.  It reminded me of how long it's been since I've last been to a play, I need to remedy this.

Photos from Saturday night in Lowell. Wearing thrifted jacket, Arden B t-shirt, Basic Editions button-down and self-made skirt.
I will post more pictures at some point to do the skirt justice. I made it a few summers ago out of jersey fabric. It's high-waisted, has a (functional) zipper across the front, and belt-loops.
Started reading Donald Barthelme's Sixty Stories. So far I'm very impressed with what he is able to capture.

I don't recognize you - I've changed a lot.

For some reason I have a new found appreciation for waist belts, slowly turning into obsession..

Wearing thrifted cardigan, piko1988 tank, Old Navy cami,
True Religion jeans, old belt

Oh and mustard yellow.

A thing is, according to the mode in which one looks at it.

The apartment.  Wearing jacket from ebay, H&M t-shirt and leggings, thrifted Abercrombie & Fitch skirt, ASOS boots and gloves crocheted by a friend

Waiting for the bus at South Station in Boston.
Times square

New York City.  I love how in nyc I see more in one weekend than I normally would in months.  Highlights of the trip (besides family and friends) included getting a cop to open a trash barrel, conversation and not so quality chicken late at night and an amazing flea market on the upper west side.

Creepy exhibit at the MET of a white room.  It was a sterilized pristine white room with quaint Victorian looking furniture and mirrors.  Perfect nightmare conditions.
