toronto

Tim Burton exhibit

Photos from my mini road-trip to Toronto.
So there's a pretty big cow theme here.  Which I didn't realize until looking at these photos.
We got lucky and it was a beautiful day - we got to wander all over the city.
The people were chill and friendly, the apparent jay-walking rules were bizarre, the city was big but not too dense and carlsberg wasn't a specialty beer.
It was a good trip.

new york citeh

These are a summary of my trip to nyc last weekend.
There were broken umbrellas and puddles everywhere after all the rain. I saw an intact ice cream cone lying in a pool of water on the sidewalk and very much regret not getting a photo. But what can you do. I'll have to keep my eye out in the future.

Look, spring. Crazy.
These were shot wandering around Boston last weekend. Wearing Forever21 t-shirt, LF sweater and thrifted Free People pants that you can't see.
Happy Marathon Monday

summer pattern

This is a dress I recently made..
The fabric is jersey. I had less than I thought so the top panel in the back was made out of plain black jersey.  I'm happy with it - the fabric has an interesting pattern and I like the shape of the dress.
I modified this free pattern to make it. Currently working on making my own patterns and give myself more options to work with..
Worn here with Jeffrey Campbell Roks wedges.

Thoreau

Walden pond. Wearing LF t-shirt, H&M tank, thrifted True Religion jeans, self-made arm warmers, Old Navy jacket.

I love photos of sand.. its texture.. its color. And the way the sand is visible through the water.

Latest ebay listing and the latest addition to my sunglasses collection.
In a weird way the shoulder pads on this sweater really work

Cotton blend

Wearing self-altered jean jacket, Express cardigan, ASOS dress, H&M leggings, ASOS boots and random scarf

I've had this jean jacket sit in my closet for months and wore it maybe twice, so I decided to alter it. Swapping the jean sleeves for hoodie sleeves made it much more wearable and 80s. Very happy with the result. I really like the bulk the scarf gives it too.

interior inspiration

So I stumbled across a series of photos on yellowtrace of rooms at Boulevard Leopard, a bed and breakfast in Antwerp, Belgium. This is one of those photos

It immediately reminded me of the dollhouse of Petronella Oortman in the Rijkmuseum in Amsterdam, which I've never seen, but I remember having a book about it. I remember loving this book.
The antique finishes and the partially concealed second room are so simple and beautiful
